the impossible project

i've been patiently waiting for an announcement to be made re: company buying polaroid instant film production. i knew polaroid wouldn't completely die on me. the world is not that cruel. the impossible project's aim is to " ... re-invent and re-start production of analog integral film for vintage Polaroid cameras"
" ... The Impossible mission is NOT to re-build Polaroid Integral film but (with the help of strategic partners) to develop a new product with new characteristics, consisting of new optimised components, produced with a streamlined modern setup. An innovative and fresh analog material, sold under a new brand name that perfectly will match the global re-positioning of Integral Films."
this makes me oh so happy. polaroid is not dead ... yet. i was hoping polaroid wouldn't let instant photography become a past time, despite the breakthrough in digital photography. if polaroid want to move on, they can hand over instant film production to these geniuses. interested in seeing what these new optimised components are. although, i'd be just as happy if they only produced the original film.

alas! the mechanical sound of a polaroid capture shall continue.
