drifting into outer space

this is an update on drifting. i wasn't satisfied with the drifting image. as with almost every other aspect of my life, if i'm not happy with the end product - i will keep working at it till i achieve complete satisfaction (or close to it). sometimes it can work against me, but in this case - i think it turned out quite well.

decided to pop by outre and use my birthday voucher. about time, it has been sitting in my wallet for the past 5 months or so. they recently brought in a new batch of jonathan adler pottery pieces. and i must say, i am in love. the squirrel is uber cute, the acorn opens up and you can place a ring in there. very cute indeed.

to die for

disce mori is nothing short of magnificent. came by a few of julia deville's pieces at e.g.etal and at an rmit gallery a couple months back (alice euphemia also stock them). she combines traditional gold and silversmithing with materials that were once living (jet, petrified wood, human hair and taxidermy). perhaps not for everyone, but definitely worth a look for those who enjoy a touch of morbidity in their daily lives. i especially love the mechanical wing brooch.
